OSU vs. NU: Through the eyes of an Action Sampler
Chalk up another loss
Nebraska football would make a good metaphor for something. They come into the season, ready to conquer and fight for what they believe in. Despite bad losses, every week is the same: we'll get them this time. Eventually tiny victories, like a first down, are hailed as signs of guarenteed success.
What it could represent, I don't know.

My Buddy Bob
For those of you who don't know Bob Al-Greene, you are missing out. He's easily one of the most talented artists I've ever met, and an intelligent, politically coherent gentleman. For just a taste of all that: http://www.nealo.com/blog/2007/10/10/cartoonist-profile-bob-al-greene/.
P.S. Visit his blog. Links on the right.

Football Disaster Vol. II (and not including the score)
The irony: Mizzou (a school which prides itself on the journalists that come from there) sets up visiting journalists for the worst possible experience, especially those carrying camera gear. Their media lot is open to the general public, the general public being 70,049 fans, 80,000 of which are intoxicated. Needless to say, they filled up the 50 spots for media pretty quick. The next closest parking was almost two miles away in the docking area of a long-abandoned Wal-Mart.
At least there are some images this week.

Everything but the Ball
This is an attempt at a monthly series.
In order to ween myself off the sports shooter's sin of chimping, instead I will look for more to shoot. Whether that be player interaction and reaction, fans, cheerleaders, detail, etc., it's a new mission. In a way, I will try to live by the philosophy of a photographer who I have recently come to admire and respect: "Shoot for yourself."
